Oh yes indeed there is a story behind all the stuff I post here.
I have a few story threads but the one I spend most time with is defintely the one about the time after the Thirty Years War. All art here on my blog refers to that period. It’s the one I’ve been working on now very detailed over the past three years. It is still in process, it evolves and I have to make tough decisions. To bring up one example, Alessio’s backstory and the idea to get this round-eared barber surgeon to Persia for studying medicine. The reference to “The physician” was not planned when I started writing, I had not even an idea of this book and saw it later, when all decisions were already made. I anyway continued but it still bugs me. Especially in the last time I thought about this a lot and see big potential in not sending him to Persia but to the Holy Roman Empire. There are a few reasons for this, but first of all: When I write a story that takes place in and after the Thirty Years War, why not sending him directly in the hot spot of this time? It is a great possibility that I like more and more, it gives me also the possibility to give Perceval (some of you may remember him from my ask blog) a more important role (he lives there!). Plus man, it’s my homecountry and I can simply put in more and especially better references.
Urgh, I started to gabble again. To make it short: Yes, there is a story.

You are only a little wrong: He is in fact my alter ego but I also use him as a character for my stories aswell. The easiest way to explain it may be this:
Imagine him as an actor that works in a theatre. He uses his script and acts like the script dictates it. After the light are out he has a normal life.
I personally work on costumes and roles very often, mostly for conventions or fairs. So I exactly do the same. That why I still say “me” when I say Alessio. I don’t make a difference here and will always see him as my ego, not a character.
Hm…His very first version was made back in 2007 or 2008. Then in 2011 I created the version that is still current.
I also made a few little changes in his design but nothing big when I look back. I wanted his markings as natural as possible, no crazy colors or outstanding markings, simply a normal genet with a few characteristics that are similar to me. (he is relatively pale for a genet and we share the same eye color. His character and behavior is based of mine.)
